App-V4.6 SP1 annoncé: Des nouveautés pour le Séquenceur

Microsoft a annoncé au Teched 2010 le SP1 pour la version 4.6 de App-V.
Je vous propose de découvrir les nouveautés otientées Séquenceur (qui avait grandement besoin d’une mise à jour).
Ce SP1 sera disponible au premier Quarter 2011.

Improvement on the following levels:
Diagnostics: Detect problems in an earlier stage and allow for better chance of first time right package.

There is a check for running services and applications before the actual sequencing starts
After sequencing there is a report stating possible issues
- Excluded files
- Drivers
- COM+
- System differences
- SxS Conflicts
- Shell Extensions

Ease of use:

Added logics for Dynamic Suite Compositioning
You still need to manual edit OSD’s or use the DSC tool.

Predictability:

Package accelerators (or application templates) to easily package difficult applications.
No monitoring(just provide installer files and the package accelerator (.cab file with OSD, SPRJ, Manifest and “ingredient” files))

New features/important changes in App-V 4.6 SP1:

You now have the option to select the installer file. But other processes are also monitored(eg. Manual changes).
No more 8.3 asset dir limitation
Minimize the sequencer! (Gotta love this one)
Prepare for first use(disable updates etc.) and Feature block One are different stages
Feature block one creation with command line sequencer will be available with 4.6 SP1
